OVERVIEW OF CARD YACHT
Card Yacht is a fun game filled with card combinations and pint scales. The goal of the game is to score as many points as you can in hopes that it is more than your opponents. The stronger combinations you make, the more points you score.
SETUP
Firstly, players decide who will be the first dealer and the seating arrangement for the group. They will do this by drawing for the highest card. The player who draws the highest card will be the dealer for the first round and get to choose their seat first. The player who draws the lowest card will choose their seat last. The role of the dealer will rotate clockwise around the group with each round.
The dealer will then shuffle the cards, allowing the player on their right to cut the deck. One card at a time, the dealer will deal five cards face down to each player going clockwise around the group. The rest of the cards are placed in the middle of the table as the stock pile. The game is ready to begin!
GAMEPLAY
The player to the left of the dealer will take the first turn. Players may choose to do one of many things during their turn. They may choose to Knock, in which the player may play a scoring combination found in their hand. Once a player Knocks, all other players get one turn. Players may not Knock if they have traded any cards during their turn.
If the player does not Knock, they must draw from the stock pile or exchange cards from their hand. If a player chooses to draw, they place up to five cards face up in front of them. This is the Harbor. They will then draw the same number of cards that they discarded, bringing their turn to an end.
If a player decides to exchange cards instead, they discard the cards in their Harbor. They then may take the same number of cards that was in their Harbor from any single opponent’s Harbor. Players may never take their own cards back, and they may only pull from one opponent per turn.
The game is played throughout twelve rounds, and within each round, players should try and complete one of the scoring combinations with the goal to complete as many categories as possible. Players may not score in the same category twice during the same round.
At the end of twelve rounds, the players score the game to determine who the winner is. The winner is the player with the most points. keonhacai
